Good Times

FADE IN:

EXT. TRAIN CAR - DAY

PETER taps his phone and sees some floral images.

PETER (V.O.)

Oh, a friend has already seen plum

blossoms across the border. Last Jan-

Mar, I had a good time...

FLASHBACK & MONTAGE OF PETER'S EARLY LAST YEAR TRAVELS

A/ EXT. HIROSHIMA - EVENING (JANUARY 2018)

Peter and Peter's WIFE take pictures around the Atomic Bomb Dome.

B/ EXT. CHAING MAI - DAY (FEBRUARY 2018)

Peter and Peter's wife watch Chaing Mai's flower festival 2018.

C/ EXT. KYOTO - DAY (MARCH 2018)

Peter and Peter's wife enjoy Sakura blossoms in the area.

END FLASHBACK & MONTAGE

PETER (V.O.)

I wrote one song and one

Harmonica melody... But since

April, my practice picked up

and I've not written a song

since then!

EXT. CAR - DAY

Peter drives his wife.

PETER

Yesterday, I had fond memories of

our trips early last year, particularly

our Kyoto - Osaka trip.

WIFE

It was last year right? It seems it was a long time ago...

PETER (V.O.)

You packed into your life so many

other things in between... We've

travelled together in Jan to KL...

FLASHBACK

EXT. CAR - DAY

A GENTLEMAN drives Peter and Peter's wife.

GENTLEMAN

...My father's health is declining..

It's a matter of time...

PETER (V.O.)

Yes. It's a matter of time to all...

So, let's have good times while

we can!

END FLASHBACK

WIFE

When will you begin your Feb

travel?

PETER

On the 4th day of the Chinese

New Year...I booked the trip last

March...

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.)

Despite your complaint, I'd

maintain my practice to do

monthly travels. When I've to

travel solo, I'd focus better.

I also know my self and life

better.

Peter's wife gets off.

INT. SWIMMING POOL - DAY

Dotted with elderly swimmers. Having swum laps, Peter rests at a lane corner.

PETER (V.O.)

I only swim so regularly since my

retirement. Before 60, I hurried

through my life to develop myself,

support the family and add public

value.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Only after 60 did I have the time

and space to become aware of the

richness of life, like being attracted by flowers.

Seeing nobody around, Peter swims butterfly style.

INT. STUDY - DAY

Peter works on his computer. He taps his phone and finds something.

PETER (V.O.)

Among the 8.7 million of species,

a vast majority are animals, but

only humans can think deep. I've

pondered over the meaning of

life. I believe "procreate-create-

recreate" sums it all.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

My parents gave me this one

life. I've also procreated, having

four children.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

I've been creating like capturing

and delivering value as an

employee or a self-employed.

Apart from supporting my family,

adding value especially public

ones is good in itself.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

I've been recreating like swimming

and travelling to manage stress

and to re-energize myself, among

others.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Life is more precious than money

or gold or diamonds. We've to

seize the moment and live it, with

love and joy, and possibly having

lots of good times!

Peter taps his smart phone. We see an image of a record label depicting Cliff Richard and his number "Good Times". We then hear lively music.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd) Oh, the last time I head this

song was in 1969! Life moves

pretty fast...
